Brief About Innovation

Introduction: 

Chlorella is a unicellular green algae which occurs in both fresh water and marine water. It is also known as a sun-powered supernutrient because of its beneficial properties which include wound healing, detoxification, constipation relief and growth stimulation. Because of such beneficial properties 

The present technology relates to the field of marine algal pharmacoactive nutrient. Importantly the technology produces an extract from marine microalgae using seawater on uncultivable coastal land. Chlorella biomass is widely employed as a supplementary food. Chlorella has the highest content of chlorophyll comprising vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, nucleic acids, amino acids, enzymes, The nutrient extract obtained from the technology has novel heat shock proteins to combat the thermal stress, which are of high biological importance in addition to the rich carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. 

Technology significance and applications:

• A simple method of production of pharmacoactive nutrient with significant nutritional value and potent biological activity against central nervous system depression from Chlorella Vulgaris was standardized.
• The technology relates to the field of marine algal pharmacoactive nutrient and envisages a pharmacoactive nutrient medium and a process for the preparation of the same.
• The present disclosure also discloses a methodology for efficient extraction of nutritionally and pharmaceutically valuable extract from the live biomass of marine microalgae.
• Typically, the live marine algae is selected from the specific group of Chlorella genus, which are species of green microalga in the division Chlorophyta.
• The technology also provides an algal culture medium comprising the pharmacoactive nutrient for enhancing algal biomass.
• The pharmacoactive nutrient medium is substantially devoid of heavy metals
• The nutrient medium is the most effective extract with maximum nutritional value and pharmacological potency.
